Artsmark Gold Award

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded an Artsmark Gold Award. The award celebrates our commitment to arts and cultural education and the opportunities offered to the children in our school.

It recognises that our children “have equal opportunity to plan, experience, participate in, and evaluate a diverse range of high-quality arts and cultural activities and you recognise the importance of development opportunities delivered by specialists for your staff in these areas. You engage with a range of arts and cultural organisations and ….. your children have an opportunity to further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of arts and culture.”

This reflects a lot of hard work and we would like to thank all those involved, particularly Mrs Lovatt who led the work for the award, and Mrs Foster who organised the Year 3 Regent Dance and our school summer dance festival. Thanks also to the parents and staff who have supported these events and other events, such as the Year 4 Shakespeare performance.

To receive the award we were invited to a celebration at Wedgwood where there was a demonstration of how to make pots using a potters' wheel - and also a very tasty buffet!
