Armistice Centenary Woodland

On Friday afternoon, some of our Year 4 pupils helped volunteers to plant trees to commemorate the centenary of the World War One armistice. The tree planting continued on Saturday morning and with the help of members of the local community, led by Councillor John Povey, a total of four hundred and nineteen tree saplings have been planted, one for each man of the parish recorded on the Nicholson War Memorial who died while in service during this conflict.
